Best of MKE: New Boutiques

1.
Form

My new boutique tour around Milwaukee began with pure plant bliss. Step inside a tiny jungle right here in Milwaukee, where you can buy artisan creations, from jewelry to books and even select pieces of furniture. This is the first permanent home for Form, which was housed in the Milwaukee Public Market prior to their new 5th Street location in Walker's Point.

2.
Specter

Take a few steps just across the street from Form to find this dark-toned store that has works from artisans all around the country. While many boutiques may strive for an atmosphere fueled by white walls and light product to match, Specter embraces the dark side and gives a gorgeous mix of contrasting pieces.

3.
Ursa

This little spot on Kinnickinnic in Bayview has everything from plants to clothes to oils and soaps. Ursa has something for everyone and they seem to have new product flowing in frequently. While it would be the perfect gifting spot, be careful, all sales are final. This may be the place to only gift goodies to yourself.

4.
Orange and Blue Co.

My fourth and final stop was to Orange and Blue Co., the most beautifully curated boutique of all. Each detail is perfectly thought out, from the product they sell to the feel of the space. After talking with one of the owners, I learned the building that houses this precious shop sat empty for forty years and the renovations took two years to complete. And they aren't done yet. The husband and wife duo are opening Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern right next door, so keep an eye out.

Peace out 2017. Always shop small and shop local.
