But First, Brunch

Let there be brunch.

Located in the heart of downtown, Brunch serves exactly what the name says and they dish it up every day of the week. From eggs and pancakes to burritos and burgers, Brunch has a little of everything. On the outside, this place seems like a foodies heaven. The restaurant is bright and colorful and the food is picture perfect. While the food is good, it was not what I was hoping for. It seems like they are trying too hard to come up with a unique and "trendy" menu, instead of perfecting the classics and taking it from there. This was my second trip to Brunch because I wanted to give it a second chance, as some of my favorite restaurants even have their off days.

We started with the truffles fries and got the vegan hash and s'mores pancakes for our entrees. A little bit of sweet and a little bit of savory. The fries were good, but could have been amplified with a dipping sauce of sorts. The hash was somewhat bland until I put on their homemade hot sauce. For someone that does not typically gravitate toward hot sauce, this was spot on. It had the perfect amount of spice and great flavor. The pancakes were great too, but it was one of those dishes that I couldn't eat a lot of. Within a few bites, it was simply too sweet. Perhaps that's a good thing though...fewer calories, right?
